• Diabetes mellitus
• High blood pressure (Hypertension)
• Obesity
• Hyperlipidemia

• Lifestyle modification to avoid risk of fat accumulation on artery wall including modification of the diet, exercise, lose weight to appropriate level, and stop smoking
• Antiplatelet (Aspirin or Clopidogrel)
• Thrombolytic medication (Streptokinase or Heparin)
• Medications to decrease heart workload (Beta-blocker, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and calcium channel blocker)
• Lipid lowering medication (Statins)
• Sublingual vasodilator (Nitroglycerin) – every patients should carry with them for acute symptoms
• Patients with acute ischemic heart disease may be advised to receive a surgical treatment such as coronary angioplasty and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)

Consult a doctor if you experienced symptoms which can refer to ischemic heart disease as followed:

• Chest pain, feeling like heavy objects pressed on the chest and may have referred pain to their neck, jaw, shoulders, and arms. Increased activities led to more intensive chest pain.
• Easily tired upon exercise or physical activities
• Sudden fatigue, unable to breathe when lying flat, dizzy, headache, and syncope and with chest pain

Symptoms occurring frequently include chest pain in which the patient may feel like heavy objects pressed on the chest and may have referred pain to their neck, jaw, shoulders, and arms especially on the left side. Palpitation, sweating, fatigue upon exertion, fainting can also be the symptoms however in worst case the patient can have a sudden death.
