• As with any other surgery, review your medical history with your doctor and be sure to give information about medications and supplements you are currently taking
• Assess your physical condition and discuss your expectations with your doctor

• Temporary Numbness on the forehead or top of the scalp however some cases may be permanent
• Uneven positions of brows after the surgery – if this happens it may even out after the body heals itself or can be treated with Botox or additional surgery
• Elevated hairline or hair loss at incision site – this can be treated by removing the problematic part of scalp or using a hair graft

Several techniques are available to suit your needs. Discuss with your doctor for your expectations and decide on which suits you best. Options include:

• Direct brow lift – Skin above the eyebrows is removed
• Temporal brow lift – Small incisions near the hairline
• Coronal brow lift – An incision behind the hairline across the top of the head then lift the forehead up to the new position. The overlapping scalp is then removed.
• Endoscopic brow lift – Small incisions behind the hairline. With this technique an instrument with camera and light is used to accurately lift the forehead tissues and anchor with appropriate material.
• Hairline brow lift – An incision is made between the top of the forehead and the beginning of the hairline correcting the high hairline

Recommendations are as followed:

• Use cold compression to reduce swelling
• Be cautious with the incision sites to pressures and motions
• Rest with your head elevated
• Take medications as prescribed
