Egg freezing deposits

What is egg freezing deposit?

Egg freezing is the process of storing frozen eggs for future use. The process begins by stimulating the egg with hormonal drugs to the appropriate size and amount of egg follicles, and collecting the egg cells by drilling and sucking out the egg. Frozen eggs can be used later by thawing and mixing with sperm to become embryos and implanted in the uterus (In Vitro Fertilization) for further pregnancy.

Who is suitable for this method?

This method is suitable for working women in the modern era who may be slower to start a family and have children. When a woman is over 35 years old, the decrease in the quantity and quality of eggs makes it more difficult to have children, or if you have a disease that may affect fertility, such as sickle cell anemia, immunodeficiency, or if you need chemotherapy or radiation therapy that has a negative effect on ovarian function.

Therefore, egg freezing or egg storage is an option to store eggs of good quality in the right amount in case of future children.

Risk

  • Side effects from ovarian stimulants are rare, such as abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Risks of egg collection procedures Less common, such as pain in the lower abdomen. Bleeding from the egg needle Infection or damage to the bladder

How to stimulate eggs, store eggs, and deposit frozen eggs

Before you start the process The doctor will advise on the need to store frozen eggs. Explain the steps and potential risks.

The doctor will then conduct a general health check-up and evaluate the ovarian function by ultrasound, looking at the initial egg, taking blood to see the hormones Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Estradiol (E2) on the 2-3rd day of the menstrual cycle.

  1. Egg stimulation
    • The doctor will make an appointment to monitor the response to the medication and the amount and size of the eggs will be checked periodically for a total of 10-14 days.
  2. Egg collection
    • Once the eggs are of good size, the eggs are collected under intravenous anesthesia and transvaginal ultrasound aspiration is used to suck out all the egg cells.
  3. Freezing eggs
    • Once scientists have checked the quality of the egg cells collected in the laboratory, the eggs are frozen by rapid freezing or vitrification using specific substances or cryoprotectants to prevent the formation of ice flakes that will have a negative effect on the egg cells.
