Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital Joins Forces with TOA to Promote a Sustainable Organization with Eco-Friendly Innovations

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital has partnered with TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited to unite efforts in protecting the environment, enhancing hospital sustainability through eco-friendly paint innovations certified under the TOA GREEN CERTIFIED standard.

Both organizations place high importance on environmental issues and sustainability. The hospital has chosen TOA’s innovative paints, including SuperShield, a 100% pure acrylic water-based paint, and TOA Organic Care, an interior paint that meets international safety standards. TOA Organic Care paint is made from natural ingredients, certified by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), reduces carcinogenic toxins, is hypoallergenic, meets Australian safety standards, inhibits over 99.99% of bacterial germs, and blocks 99% of viruses such as coronavirus, influenza A & B, and hand-foot-and-mouth disease. The paint dries fast, allowing spaces painted in the morning to be ready for use by evening.

Dr. Thitipong Nuntapiwat, Chief Executive Officer of Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital, emphasized the importance of environmental care alongside business operations. The hospital has policies supporting all staff to understand and work responsibly toward service users, society, and the environment. This includes reducing carbon footprints, using digital applications to implement paperless workflows, sorting waste, reducing plastic use, replacing disposable cups with personal cups, safely managing hazardous waste, and promoting energy-saving practices such as turning off lights and air conditioning during breaks and using stairs instead of elevators.

The hospital is elevating its organization based on ESG principles (Environmental, Social, Governance) according to Thonburi Healthcare Group’s (THG) policy, aiming for comprehensive ESG practices to achieve true sustainability, particularly in environmental aspects. Using Greenovation products with Green Certified standards, such as SuperShield for exterior walls and TOA Organic Care for interiors with natural ingredients, supports health and environmental care. Initial applications include the exterior of the building, the pediatric department, and the dental department. These paints offer three key benefits: 1) suitable for all surfaces, 2) no primer needed, and 3) odorless and safe for users.

Dr. Thitipong added that the hospital’s policy clearly prioritizes environmental care, including proper waste separation, maintaining safe surroundings, and using safe paints. Annual room renovations ensure a fresh environment for patients, including vulnerable seniors and children. Parents want their children in safe environments, which requires using paints without harmful odors, dust, or chemicals. The goal is to renovate promptly while being odorless, reducing global warming and carbon footprints, and saving energy.

Mr. Jatuphat Tangkaravakun, Chief Executive Officer of TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited, stated that the company provides consumers with safe and environmentally friendly options. TOA has become a leading paint company in Thailand by driving the market toward eco-friendly, safe, and sustainable products for both people and the planet.
